KitSharp, Inc. (“we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the KitSharp mobile application and web platform, including integration for Slack (collectively, the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our Service.
1. Information We Collect
Information You Provide
- Account Information: Name, email address, company name, and phone number when you create an account
- Asset Data: Information about assets you add to your inventory, including descriptions, photos, serial numbers, and values
- Profile Information: Optional profile details you choose to share
- Payment Information: Billing name, address, and payment method details (processed securely by Stripe, our payment processor)
Information Automatically Collected
- Device Information: Device type, operating system, unique device identifiers
- Usage Data: How you interact with our app, features used, and time spent
- Log Data: IP address, browser type, access times, and pages viewed
- Location Data: Approximate location based on IP address, precise information only if explicitly enabled in the future
Integration for Slack Data
When you connect KitSharp to your Slack workspace, we collect:
- User Information: Display names, email addresses, and Slack user IDs of users who create or interact with equipment requests
- Message Content: Messages and threads related to equipment request tickets to enable conversation synchronization between Slack and KitSharp
- Channel Information: Channel IDs and names where tickets are created
- Workspace Information: Workspace ID and basic workspace metadata
We only access messages in channels/threads where users explicitly create KitSharp tickets using our commands or interact with existing tickets. We do not monitor or access other Slack conversations. Our access is limited to the minimum scopes required to create and synchronize tickets.
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services that may collect additional data:
- Google Firebase and Cloud Firestore for data storage (see Google’s Privacy Policy)
- Stripe for payment processing (see Stripe’s Privacy Policy)
- Slack for workspace integration (see Slack’s Privacy Policy)
2. How We Use Your Information
We use collected information to:
- Provide and maintain our asset management service
- Create and manage your account
- Store and organize your asset inventory
- Process subscription payments and manage billing
- Create and manage equipment request tickets through Slack
- Synchronize conversations between Slack and the KitSharp platform
- Send ticket updates and notifications to your Slack workspace
- Communicate with you about your account and our service Improve our app and develop new features

3. Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in these limited circumstances:
Service Providers (Sub-Processors)
We share information with trusted third parties who help us operate our service:
- Google Cloud Platform: Cloud infrastructure and data storage (Cloud Firestore, region us-central1, United States)
- Stripe: Payment processing for subscription management. Stripe processes your payment information directly; we do not store complete credit card numbers on our servers
- Slack: When you use our integration for Slack, we exchange data with Slack to provide ticket creation and conversation synchronization
All service providers are contractually required to:
- Maintain confidentiality of your information
- Use your data only to provide services to KitSharp
- Implement appropriate security measures
- Comply with applicable data protection laws

4. Data Storage and Security
Storage Location
- Primary Data: Stored in Google Cloud Firestore, region us-central1 (United States)
- Payment Data: Processed and stored by Stripe in accordance with PCI-DSS standards
- Data Location: All data remains in the United States and is not transferred internationally
Security Measures
- Industry-standard security measures to protect your information
- Data encrypted in transit using TLS 1.2+ and at rest using AES-256 encryption
- Access restricted to authorized personnel only using role-based access controls
- Regular security monitoring and updates
- Multi-factor authentication for team access
We cannot guarantee 100% security, but we continuously strive to protect your information using industry best practices.
5. Your Rights and Choices
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we have about you
- Correct inaccurate information
- Delete your account and associated data
- Export your data in a portable format
- Opt out of non-essential communications
- Object to new sub-processors (with 30 days’ notice before changes)
Slack-Specific Rights
If you use our integration for Slack, you can:
- Request deletion of Slack data by contacting [email protected]
- Disconnect the integration for Slack at any time from your workspace settings
- Have your workspace administrator uninstall the KitSharp app
Payment Information
To update or delete payment information, contact us at [email protected]. Payment data is managed by Stripe and subject to their data retention policies.

6. Data Retention
General Account Data
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. When you delete your account, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except where we must retain it for legal purposes.
Integration for Slack Data
- Equipment request tickets and associated Slack data (messages, threads, user information) are retained indefinitely by default to maintain historical records of asset management activities
- User deletion: When you delete your account, you may choose to have your information anonymized (replaced with “Deleted User” while preserving ticket history) or completely removed within 30 days
- Workspace uninstallation: When a Slack workspace uninstalls the KitSharp app, all associated data is deleted within 30 days
- Specific deletion requests: Processed within 30 days via [email protected]
Payment and Billing Data
- Active subscriptions: Billing information retained for the duration of your subscription
- Transaction records: Retained for 7 years for tax, accounting, and legal compliance purposes
- Payment methods: Stored by Stripe; we do not retain complete payment card numbers
Legal Holds
Data subject to legal proceedings, regulatory investigations, or compliance requirements may be retained beyond standard deletion timelines as required by law.
7. Children’s Privacy
Our Service is not intended for people under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from people under 18. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us immediately.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by:
- Email to your registered email address
- Notification through our app or platform
- Posting the updated policy with a new “Last Updated” date
Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect indicates acknowledgment of the updated policy. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

Our Service is currently available only in the United States. Your information will be processed and stored in the United States.
